Straight from the mini's mouth...

My name is Mon Petite, that is French for my little. I am a rescued miniature pony that is the most grateful guy around. I have had a few problems but I am doing a lot better now that I am part of the Noah's Park Pack.

I am a super senior miniature horse with a few special needs conditions that need regular monitoring and attention. You don't get to be my age with a out a few odds and ends that need helping along.

I almost lost my eye and eye lid a little while back but got hooked up with the best horsey vet in town and I am able to blink and wink at you like it is going out of style.

I have pretty bad teeth and they need regular floating, more than my other pack mates to make sure I can chew and eat.

I also have a weak and collapsing throat/muscle condition called Tracheal Collapse, I can get get pretty bad cases of choke and need immediate emergency treatment when it happens.

I have to endure the parasite control program every so often and I'm here to tell ya there isn't a single one of us that trots in line for that one...we need it, but yucky does that stuff just taste like a rotten apple.

I have been unable to maintain weight in the past and suffer from nutrient deficiencies as a result, my bad teeth contribute to this for sure!

I am an older guy and need a lot of support to stay on the right path for my health, happiness is covered though! My aspirations in life are to get all of my odds and ends in order so I can live out my golden years in style.

I am real sweet guy that just loves food and affection. Thank you for all of your support and taking the time to read my story, I hope you have just an awesome rest of your day.

Did you know...

  • Jaw deformities are common in miniature horses and can be serious. In brachygnathism, or parrot mouth, the upper incisors hang over the lower ones. In prognathism, or monkey mouth, the lower incisors extend beyond the upper. Both require frequent dental care. Severe cases can prevent Minis from chewing food properly.

  • Choke is a condition in horses in which the esophagus is blocked, usually by food material. Although the horse is still able to breathe, it is unable to swallow, and may become severely dehydrated. Choke is one of the "top 10" emergencies received by equine veterinarians.

  • Tracheal Collapse is a result of changes to the cartilage that cause it to soften and weaken. Affected horses with the condition have a dry, harsh or “honking” or wheezing cough and noisy, labored breathing. .Tracheal collapse is seen most commonly in middle-aged horses, and in miniature breeds specifically.
